Logistics and distribution

AlmaAlpinex - integration app

An app tying together the wholesaler's three systems - the SHM ERP and two warehouse systems, WMS Dragon and WMS Tiger - into one automated data flow. About 4,800 work hours recovered every month.

Client

A wholesaler whose sales and master data live in the SHM ERP, while its warehouses run on two different WMS systems - Dragon and Tiger.

Problem

The three systems did not exchange data, so staff retyped it by hand from one to another. That cost thousands of hours a month, caused errors and mismatches, and no system showed a complete, up-to-date picture.

Scope of work

Design and deployment of an integration app: data mapping between SHM and both WMS systems, job scheduling, error handling with retries, and run monitoring.

Solution

The app acts as a broker between SHM, WMS Dragon, and WMS Tiger: it periodically pulls data from one system, maps and validates it, and writes it to the others. Every job goes into a queue with automatic retries, so a temporary outage of one system does not lose data. Runs are monitored and errors reported immediately - the team learns about a problem from an alert, not from a customer.

Key features

  • Automated data exchange between SHM, WMS Dragon, and WMS Tiger
  • Data mapping and validation across different system formats
  • Job scheduling with queues and retries
  • Integration run monitoring and error alerts
  • A single source of truth instead of manual retyping

Business outcome

About 4,800 work hours recovered monthly, no more manual retyping between systems, and consistent data across SHM and both warehouses.
